My Pottery Garden, the growth of a new hobby/artform/love that keeps me quite literally grounded and centered. When you make pottery you are working with a substance that comes straight from the ground and your primary task is to center the clay on the wheel. If it’s centered, you can shape it into lovely forms, but if it is even slightly off center the form is completely compromised and often a total flop. The potter doesn’t lose hope though, when His pots are off center and a flop. The castoff floppy pots get reworked into new clay and reshaped into lovely vessels.
“But now, Oh Lord, you are our father. We are the clay and you are the potter. We are the work of your hands.” Isaiah 64:8
(We say this verse everyday at the start of my art classes.:))
